What this does

Markdown is plain text with simple marks for headings and lists. It is what most note apps, wikis, and AI chat tools prefer, because it stays readable anywhere and never locks you into one program.

If a scanned PDF comes out empty

A scanned page is a photograph of text, so the letters must be recognised before they can be copied. That step is slower and less accurate than reading a normal PDF, especially with faint scans, handwriting, or unusual fonts.

If the result is poor, a higher-quality scan is usually the fix.

Your privacy Your file never leaves your device. The conversion runs inside your browser, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on a server.

Common questions

Is there a size limit?
No fixed limit, but very large files are limited by your device memory. If a big PDF stalls, try splitting it.
Can I use this offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, it keeps working without a connection.
Why is the formatting not exactly the same?
Markdown is deliberately simple, so complex layouts, columns, and precise spacing cannot carry over. The words, headings, lists, and tables do.
